Night had fallen over the Warner Bros. studio and inside the water tower two out of three Warner siblings were tucked warm into bed. Wakko and Dot each snored peacefully in their respective bunks. Wakko snuggling his tail as if it were a teddy bear and Dot snuggling her pillow (probably dreaming it was Mel Gibson, but who knows?)

The bunk of the eldest Warner sibling, however, was empty. Yakko Warner was standing in the doorway of the bedroom, watching his sibs doze with a small smile on his face. They had finished a full day of bothering people and he knew they must be exhausted. Looking at his younger brother and sister, he thought back to all of their adventures on the lot. So many people driven crazy by their zany antics. So many days of laughter. It was a welcome change to the long sixty years they had been locked up inside their water tower home.

Yakko frowned to himself as he remembered the sixty long years of confinement. It was no life for a toon. Toons were created to entertain. To cause some trouble, but all in all make people laugh. A toon with no audience was hardly a toon at all.

Being the oldest, Yakko had understood the gravity of their situation the most. Wakko and Dot understood a great deal, but Yakko knew they were even more confused as he had been. What had they done wrong? They were just following their instincts! They were doing what they had been drawn to do! Be zany! Why had they been locked away and forgotten by the very people who created them? Yakko sighed. He knew why. He didn't tell his sibs just why the humans were so mad at them. He didn't want them to be any sadder than they already were. He knew that it came down to the fact that they were never supposed to be alive. No one knew they were going to jump off the page like they did. It was the 30s. Toons were just starting to come to life. Not every studio was aware of the chances that their creations would be walking and talking. Yakko knew what they were in the eyes of their creators. They were mistakes. Too zany to be among people.

It wasn't fair! Other toons got to stay outside! What made them so different? Yakko gave another sigh of frustration, before reminding himself that it doesn't matter anymore. They were free after all! Thy had broken out and could finally do what they were "born" to do. Everything was okay.

Yakko approached his brother and sister, thinking about how lucky he was to be drawn with them. He couldn't imagine an eternity without his sibs. They were a trio. Inseparable. Yakko climbed the ladder to Wakkos bunk. He had kicked his blankets off and was shivering in his sleep. Yakko pulled the sheets back over his brother and smiled as Wakko snuggled into his pillow, making small yipping noises as his tongue stuck out the corner of his mouth. Yakko gently pat the top of his head and climbed down to where Dot was sleeping. She was even cuter in sleep. Yakko gave her a kiss on the head as he tightened her covers around her. She sighed in content and slept on.

Climbing into his own bed, Yakko thought to himself. It didn't matter what had happened. It was all in the past. The fact was that he had his siblings and they were now free to spread laughter to the world. Just as nature intended. Yakko closed his eyes and smiled and he curled up under the sheets. "Goodnight, sibs." He whispered into the dark as he drifted off to sleep.
