AN: This short fic action is before the class trip in Assasination Classroom and Karma saying he likes Okuda! Enjoy my small first attempt to write Karmanami. Still figuring out how to write their dynamic.
Manami Okuda always was just a plain girl. If you compared her to some of the colourful classmates like for example Karma Akabane, Manami would fall into the category of being a mere side character. The only defining trait she had was being passionate about science. And that's all she got. Science occupied her entire life. It was after she tried to unsuccessfully poison their teacher, Koro-Sensei when she started to question her talents. Was science really the entire world for her? Will she learn how to interact with people better? After all this thinking she decided that being in the class 3-E give her the desired answer sooner or later. Manami sighed walking out from the classroom but didn't expect that Karma out of all people noticed her at all, not to mention trying to stop her from walking away.
"Okuda-San did you see my blue box by any chance?" Karma asked her about the wide known blue box containing stuff for his pranks. It was strange for Manami that Karma of all her classmates lost an item, let alone was looking for it. Add the fact she thought Karma never noticed her presence at all.
"N-no I didn't see it a-at all." Manami thought it would be where their interaction will end.
"Could you help me look for it? I don't want for others to find out the contents of this box." Karma wanting her help was strange. Really strange. Maybe he wants to pull a prank on her? At the same time, he seemed more relaxed right now for unknown reasons. Manami doubted Karma noticed it, but at the same time, he could be completely aware of it.
"S-sure I-I can help as long you don't p-pull any prank on me", she agreed to help him if he met this condition. Surprisingly Karma laughed looking amused at her reaction.
"Don't worry I don't pull any prank on you for now." At least he agreed. It wasn't too long until they found Karma precious blue box with the stuff for his pranks.
"Thanks, Okuda-San! Talking to you is surprisingly easy." Karma deduced and prepared himself to walk away.
"N-No problem! You're not as bad as rumours portray you too!" She gathered her courage to tell him he was really easy to talk to in her own way.
Karma found this whole situation funny considering the type of character he was. However, out of all girls, he really thought she was the easiest to talk to. Then he remembered that she liked experiments and if he befriends her he could be able to do more shenanigans with her cooperation. Manami Okuda has good potential to be his close friend, but for now, he must prepare a prank created for Nagisa.
It was before he knew Manami Okuda would become his irreplaceable friend.
