"Guys! You'd better come and look at this." Artemis stood in front of the TV in the make-shift living room of the cave. The rest of the Team filed in from the kitchen.
"What is it?" Wally asked, speeding to stand beside her. She nodded her head at the TV.
"Tonight, after a long absence, Batman was spotted fighting crime on the streets of Gotham." The reporter's face was replaced by an aerial view of Batman in the middle of a fight. "Commissioner Gordon declined when asked to comment."
"So?" Connor looked confused. "It's business as usual."
"But that's the thing." Artemis turned to look at them. "Batman isn't in Gotham, remember." They all exchanged looks.
"M'Gann can you contact Manhunter?" Kaldur asked.
"Sure." M'Gann looke focused for a moment. Uncle J'onn?
M'Gann? Is something wrong?
Is Batman still on Oa with you?
Yes, of course. Why?
Bye Uncle J'onn! She opened her eyes. "Batman is on Oa."
Recognized: Batman 02. They turned to the nearest Zeta-tube; as the white light faded they could see that Batman was stepping out of it. When he spotted them the whites of his mask widened in surprise.
"Get the imposter!" Kaldur shouted. 'Batman' took off at a run. Wally sped after him. When he dodged around a corner, Wally was unable to rapid course correct and slammed into the wall.
"Ouch!" Blood spurted from his nose.
"Wally!" Artemis stopped to help him up while the rest of the Team pursued 'Batman'.
"We've got him." Connor shouted. They had managed to surround him in the briefing room; they advanced slowly.
"Guys, wait. It's me." 'Batman' put his hands up. He pulled on the cowl to reveal Nightwing's face, his smaller domino mask still in place.
"Nightwing?" They asked in unison.
"Why are you dressed as Batman?" Artemis asked. She had arrived with Wally holding a rag to his nose.
Nightwing sighed. "Gotham is out of control. I had to do something."
