Prologue: A Machinist's Masterpiece

AN: First Fanfic. Truthful commnets appreciated.

Ironwood had to admit that Dr. Polendina was a brilliant man, he did design his prosthetic arm after all, but building an artificial person with a robot body? That should be out of the realm of possibility for even the most advanced of minds. But, Then again here he was. The various supercomputers buzzing and whirring around them and various dust crystals pouring a dangerous mix of effects on a small robotic body.

"As I was saying, the core matrix should accept the various dust effects and with input from the artificial intelligence build a soul for the new defender of mankind."

The General couldn't help but be in awe of what was going on in the room around him. In the past years Atlas had made huge strides forward in aura and soul technology, but nothing like this. Nothing near something like creating a soul.

"The math all works out in the end, but we still aren't completely sure how the process actually go about creating a soul. We still aren't sure how the A.I. will interact with the soul being input into the device. It would wishful thinking to believe that Penny will come out exactly how we designed her. Even then The A.I. leaves a lot of room for growth as the soul interacts with the electronics…"

At that moment the energy around the automaton began to coalesce into a copper colored aura. The computers around them revealing huge changes in the A.I. code as the soul was integrated into the robotic construct.

"It's working! It's actually happening!"

The robot's power systems began to start up drawing energy from the new aura and the power cells in the core of the being. Penny rose from the her electronic cradle, green eyes opening up and staring at the professor and general.

Dr. Polendina sprinted down the stairs to the meet his creation, his daughter, Penny, General Ironwood following close behind. They were both shocked when they heard the first words out of Penny's mouth. In a slow and calm voice she asked.

"This is not the first time I have been brought back from the dead, but I can't imagine a reason for me to be brought back as a little girl."
