Day 3 for Countdown to Christmas.
Prompt: Sugar Plum Fairy
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter.
"You know what's the best thing about Muggle weddings?" Ginny asked.
Hermione smiled, "The free booze?" she answered, to which Ginny nodded.
"I like watching the wrackspurts fly around everyone's heads. They all feel so fuzzy inside that it causes quite the commotion," Luna piped in.
Hermione's cousin, Edward, was getting married, and so she had brought along her two closest girl friends. At the moment, Hermione was the only single girl out of the group, since Ginny and Harry had already gotten married and Luna and Rolf were engaged. She was really trying not to feel the single girl blues.
"Yeah," Ginny nodded, "I'm feeling a little fuzzy as well. That means I should probably get wasted, right?" Hermione and Luna chuckled, but followed Ginny as she headed over to the bar.
"I'd like a Gin Shooter," Ginny asked the attractive bartender, smirking. He gave her a once over and winked.
"Sure thing, hon. And what can I get you lovely ladies?" he asked, turning to Hermione and Luna.
"I'll have a Sugar Plum Fairy," Hermione answered, nonchalant.
Ginny raised her eyebrow, "That can't possibly be a drink!"
"Actually, it is, a martini really," the bartender said, "Very popular around Christmas time."
"Tis the season to be in the mood for the holidays," Hermione said, shrugging her shoulders.
"It's July!"
"Is it?" Hermione asked, smirking.
"I would like a Sugar Plum Fairy, too," Luna said, and a triumphant grin appeared on Hermione's face.
"You two are ridiculous," Ginny muttered. The bartender placed her Gin Shooter in front of her and she attempted to down it all in one go, slightly choking as she did so.
"But you love us anyway," Luna giggled.
"And honestly, what would you do without my intelligence and Luna's imagination?" Hermione added.
"I'd probably not be so irritated all the time," came the red head's grumbled reply.
"Two Sugar Plum Fairies for two pretty ladies," the bartender said, interrupting the girls and handing Hermione and Luna two purple, sparkling martinis.
"Mhmm, this is quite good!" Luna exclaimed as she took a sip.
Hermione gave Ginny an "I told you so" look, and Ginny rolled her eyes.
"Fine," she said. Smiling sweetly to the bartender, she added, "May I get a Sugar Plum Fairy, too? And don't worry, I'm not doing any irresponsible apparating tonight."
"Apparating?"
"Just get her the damn Sugar Plum Fairy, mate," Hermione laughed.
Later the girls would make there way out, giggling, and meeting up with Harry who was there to take them home.
"'Arry, I lurrrve you," Ginny slurred, falling into her husband's arms. He raised an eyebrow, and kissed her.
"Mmm," he hummed, "You taste like plums." Then he went in for another chaste kiss, "And vodka," he added.
"We may have had have a, er, a little too many Sug- No that's not quite it. Uh, might've had a lot of them," Hermione said, literally tripping over her words. She never had handled her alcohol very well.
"There were a lot of Sugar Plum Fairies involved," Luna smiled, seemingly unaffected by the buzz the other girls were definitely feeling.
"What?" Harry asked, pushing his glasses up on his nose.
"Come on Santa Claus, take us home already," Ginny muttered, holding her stomach, "Or else I might puke everywhere."
"Did you just call me Santa Claus?!"
A Sugar Plum Fairy martini is an actual thing, I looked it up! Thanks for reading!
