I don't know what it is about the painting in front of me, but it's become my favorite. I've been following the artist for some time now. I even know about the pieces they haven't even released. Comes with the being rich, wealthy, and social among the art community. "I wonder how much this one will cost me," I said aloud. The gallery I'm in only excepts the best for auction.
"About 50,000," said Xion. I've known her since our years in college. We both had a mutual respect for art. "Tell me, Vanitas. What exactly do you think of when you look at this piece?"
"Well, I can tell the artist was inspired by two people, who are madly in love. I see the showing of those being put through all sorts of pain. Yet, they never let each other go. Even with the fire surrounding them, they hold on tight, and suffer as one, rather than leave the other in order to escape the pain. Nothing tears them apart." Funny thing is, I meant ever word that just came out of my mouth. "What about you?"
She just started to chuckle. "That's funny. I was thinking the exact same thing." I'm not surprised honestly. Like I said, we have a very similar outlook on art. "So, yeah. Like I said, 50,000 is what she's selling it for, but I'm sure she'll settle for that ring in your pocket."
"Ah, damn. No one was supposed to know about the ring yet. I wasn't gonna purpose until she and I went out to dinner tonight. I had the entire thing planned out. How'd you know?"
Well we are roommates. Maybe you shouldn't leave the receipt on the counter where anyone can find it." Damn. She has a point.
"Well, you think she'll say yes?"
She just broke out laughing. "You two have been going out for some time now. And you two love each other to death. I'm pretty sure she'll say yes."
Then I started to laugh a little bit. "Well, in that case." I knelt down to one knee and took her hand. "Xion Lockhart, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?"
No hesitation. "Yes!" She immediately wrapped her arms around my neck, and smashed her lips into mine. "So, how about we see what that ring looks like on my finger."
As I placed it on, I had one smart ass thing to say. "So I guess that painting over there is mine now. And for such a low price." As expected, she punched my shoulder. We couldn't help but laugh.
I love her with all my heart, and the fact that she's a famous painter, that's just an added bonus.
A/N So I just kinda had this story brewing in my head and I just wanted to throw it out there. I truly hope you enjoyed it. Feel free to drop me a review.
