"Trust me, I won't let you go on a bad date." Robbie promised James, who was now regretting allowing Robbie to set him up on a blind date. "Actually I know you'll have a great time and will get on great with her. She's a good friend of mind who came out of a messy divorce a year or so ago."
"I'm not dating an emotional wreck!" James argued.
"She's perfectly fine; you two have a lot in common. You only have to go for a couple of drinks, it doesn't have to go any further."
"Fine I'll go."
"Trust me I wouldn't set you up with a complete weirdo." Robbie promised her.
"He better not be! I want a nice relaxed evening."
"It will be you'll get on great. After normal awkward first date pleasantries anyway."
"Right, can you come and have a drink by the bar just in case I need rescuing?"
"I can agree to that."
"Good."
"I'll pick you up at 7 that way you can get a taxi back to yours or his house."
"I don't sleep with someone on a first date."
"Whatever, see you at 7."
"Bye."
"Robbie, what are you doing here?" James asked as he spotted Robbie at the bar and walked over.
"I brought your date along."
"Great, where is she?" James smiled.
"Toilets, go and sit down facing that way and I'll send her over."
"Fine."
"Okay, I'm ready."
"That's him over there facing the wall."
"But that looks like James." She said as she clocked the look on Robbie's face, "You are joking?"
"No, when I asked you both what you wanted in a date you practically described each other. Just give it a go; it doesn't have to go anywhere."
"Fine, does he know it's me?"
"No he hasn't a clue."
"James?"
"Jean? As lovely as a drink would be, I'm waiting for someone."
"Yeah, that someone's me."
"What?!"
"That;s what I said, apparently when he asked us what we wanted in a date we described each other."
"Oh, well sit down and I'll get the drinks in."
