"Shelly, breakfast is ready!" Mary Cooper called from the kitchen down the hall to Sheldon's room. He was still sleeping but everyone else was up. Apparently the great Dr. Cooper couldn't handle a little bit of jet lag, but Amy was completely fine.

"The food smells delicious, Mary. Thank you so much." Amy said as she nursed a cup of warm tea in her cold hands. Mary smiled at her and gave her a pat on the back before responding.

"Sure thing darlin', but it wasn't all me. Give yourself some credit! It's like I always say, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. It's a good thing you can cook now or I'd have to teach ya!"

Amy nodded and took another sip of her tea before setting the mug down on the table. Sheldon still hadn't come out of his room, and Amy wondered if he was even up yet. She was about to get up and go get him when Meemaw stopped her.

"Give Shelly some time, Amy. He'll be out any second." She and Mary shared a knowing look and Amy just shrugged, sitting back down beside Meemaw.

Sure enough, a few minutes later, Sheldon emerged from his old bedroom with his hair ruffled from sleep and small purple bags under his eyes. As he tried to rub away the sleep from his face, he let a small yawn escape his lips and stretched a little over his head. Amy blushed when she saw a little part of Sheldon's shirt lift up as he stretched. Now she was a little too hot for tea, but her hands were still freezing.

"Amy, how long have you been up?" He asked sleepily, as if she were the only one in the room. Mary and Meemaw watched on silently, waiting for Amy to respond. She just looked back up at him with a confused expression written across her face.

"Uhm… a couple of hours, why?" Amy asked, not seeing Sheldon's point. She watched with a small smile on her face as Sheldon just shrugged and shot her one of his crooked grins that she loved so much.

"Well, regardless, good morning." And before anything else was said, Sheldon walked up to Amy and extended his hand to her. She paused for a moment before taking it, not sure what was going on.

"The food smells great…" He commented as she stood up, and without another word, he pulled her close to him and planted a gentle kiss to her lips.

A few moments later, Sheldon pulled away from the kiss, but remained close enough to her so she could feel his breath against her lips. /span/p

"Thank you." He sincerely told her with a small smile. She smiled back and didn't say anything because her mind went blank in that moment, but she looked him in the eyes and had no trouble at all getting lost in them.

Shortly after that Sheldon finally detangled himself from his 'embrace' with Amy and stepped back, giving his mother and Meemaw bright smiles.

"Good morning mother, Meemaw. The food smells wonderful, you should congratulate yourselves." And without another word Sheldon walked over to the food and began helping himself to the plates of steaming eggs and bacon.

Amy watched on in silence, the smile seemingly permanently glued to her face. Meemaw observed Amy with a grin and shook her head teasingly before turning to her daughter.

"Look at how much MoonPie's changed…" she trailed off quietly. "And it's all thanks to Amy." /span/p
