Gerard's POV

I was sitting in Starbucks waiting for Lindsey. I knew her from school. She had promised to meet he an hour ago. She still wasn't here, so I figured she wasn't gonna come. I wanted to be at school with my group of friends. there was 7 of us. My 15 year old brother, Mikey, my 14 year old sister, Leighton and her boyfriend, Frank. Then there was Ray, Matt and Bob. We were the outcasts and Lindsey was the new girl. I was just getting ready to leave when a girl with black messy hair sat down in front of me.

'Hey Gerard! Sorry I'm so late' she said.

'Lindsey! Hey! Just wondering, why are you so late?' I asked.

'My dad passed out' She said.

'Oh, why?' I asked.

'She's an alcoholic. It sucks' She sighed.

'Yeah. I know' I said/

'Well, she doesn't have to know how much me and Leigh used to drink' I though to myself. I looked at her. She was staring at...My scars. Shit! I knew I'd forgotten soemthing.

'Y'know your group?' She asked.

'Yup!' I smiled, pretending that I didn't know she had noticed that my hoodie sleeves were rolled up, leaving each and every cut that covered my wrists on full display.

'How many of you cut?' She asked. SHIT!

'4 of us, that I know of' I said, staring at the table in front of me.

'Who?' Lindsey asked, hr eyebrows raised.

'Me, Mikes, Leigh and Frankie' I said, using everyone's nicknames.

'Okay, You guys need help' She said. She cared, but I didn't want her to.

'Help doesn't help. and if you hang around with us, you migth start cutting again' I said, suddenly feeling protective of her. I hadn't realised I was pushing her away.

'I won't! I'm strong! I wanna hang around wi-wait... how do you know?' She said, speaking quickly.

'I can see them. They look old, so I guessed you don't cut anymore. It's sweet you wanna help though' I said, smiling.

'I think I shoudl go to school...' She said.

'Me too!' I laughed, jumping out of my seat. I wanted to hold her hand. But I'd already pushed her away. I knew one thing though. I loved her.
