Bath Time

0956 Hours

"Dammit Midnight, no!" Dean yelled just before the black kitten tackled his brother into a mud puddle. Dean groaned, picking Stormy and Midnight up out of the sticky puddle of yuck, the cats blinking up at him innocently, "Now you need a bath. Morons." He said, rolling his eyes.

Piper mewed behind him, her paws coated in brown mud but otherwise she was clean.

"At least your sister can behave." He said, carrying the kittens into the motel room, "Sam, your cats need a bath."

"Why are they my cats when they misbehave?" Sam replied, "And I'm leaving. Research. You can bathe the kittens."

"Wait, what? No." Dean said, his face horrified.

"They're just cats Dean, you'll be fine."

1013 Hours

Horrified mews echoed from the bathroom as Dean fought to keep the kittens in the tub. Scratches bled from his arms where the three terrified kittens had clawed at him, trying to escape the water. "It's not that bad." Dean said through gritted teeth, pouring a cup of water over Stormy, running his fingers through his fur to loosen the mud.

Midnight yowled, pawing at Dean's hand.

"Quit it," Dean said, using his other hand to hold Midnight back.

Piper leapt out of the tub, mewling pathetically.

"No." Dean said, letting go of Midnight to fetch Piper.

Midnight leapt out, making a break for the door.

"Door's shut dumbass." Dean called behind him.

"Dean?" Castiel said from the corner of the room.

"Help me." Dean said, looking up at the angel.

Castiel appeared amused as he collected the kittens, placing them back in the tub, "Having problems?" He asked.

"Shut up." Dean replied without the malice.

With Cas' help he managed to finish washing the kittens fur and pulled them from the bath, rubbing them down with a towl before placing them on the floor. "There, you're free." He said, glaring at the little fur balls. He stood and opened the door, shaking his head when the three kittens shot out of the bathroom and hid under his bed.

"Your arms are bleeding." Cas observed.

"Yeah, they weren't too happy about the bath." Dean shrugged.

Cas nodded, "Allow me." He said, leading Dean to the couch and pulling out the first aid kit to clean the scratches.

"Sure glad you showed up when you did. That was an ordeal." Dean sighed.

Cas smiled lightly, "You would have gotten them clean eventually."

"Yeah." Dean replied, "Thanks." He said as Cas finished with the antiseptic.

Castiel nodded and placed the kit back in Dean's duffle. "Perhaps next time you should ask for my help before you attempt a task with all three kittens."

"Yeah, that'd probably be wise." Dean laughed.
