Seats
A seat. Everything changed for Hermione Granger with a seat. The day started out as any ordinary day. She would wake up, change into her robes,
and wish that Draco Malfoy might talk to her, because after three years of waiting, Hermione was getting impatient. But she wasn't going to talk to
him first. She knew if she tried to change their relationship, he would laugh in her face. So she would wait. Waiting was a big part in Hermione's life.
She would wait for her friends after classes, she would wait to get the results for their exams back, and she would also impatiently wait for Potions.
Hermione hated potions, which is unusual for a "book-worm" such as Hermione Granger, but it was true. But she would wait for Potions everyday,
only because Draco was in that class. And everyday she would walk in, hoping he would ask her for help on his potion or stick up for her when
Snape made his snide comments, as he usually did. So that's why Hermione always sat second row from the back everyday, next to her best friend
Harry Potter, because she knew if Draco wasn't going to be there for her, then Harry would.. And Snape never wanted to change anything, so
Hermione Granger was, to say the least, very surprised when Snape announced he was going to assign seats. So she grabbed her books and
went to the front of the room, just waiting to see who her partner would be. Would it be Ronald Weasly, Susan Bones or even…..Draco Malfoy? Her
thoughts were soon interrupted when she heard her name called. "Granger and……..Malfoy, behind Bones please" called Snape. "..Malfoy? as
in…Draco Malfoy?" Hermione thought to herself as she practically skipped to her seat. She sat down, careful to avoid her eyes to convert over to
Draco's. Hermione couldn't be happier. If she sat next to him she and him could become friends and start to date and- "Professor Snape, may I
switch my seat?" were the words Draco Malfoy exclaimed. Hermione quickly looked over just to see if she had heard wrong. She hadn't. Malfoy had
his hand raised repeating to Snape "May I please move". Hermione couldn't think. Hermione couldn't understand what was so bad about her that
he didn't even want to sit next to her. Didn't he like her? There were rumors that he did. Even if he didn't, he didn't even want to sit next to her as
a partner? Hermione wanted to cry. It didn't matter that Snape said "no" and was still sitting next to her. It mattered because she understood he
and her could never be, no matter what anybody said. He and her could never date, hug, or even become friends. How could they, he didn't even
want to sit next to her.
