DISCLAIMER: I don't own anyone; the estate of J.R.R. Tolkien does.
A/N: This is just a little poem about Aredhel Ar-Feiniel, the White Lady of the Noldor, from The Silmarillion. If you haven't read that, you'll probably be lost.

"When Dark Swallows Light"
by Kate Lockhart/Meressefers
-----------------------------------------------------
The White Lady, who whispers through the forest on her midnight steed,
She cannot -- will not! -- seek a mercy from the king.
O the sundering of kin that causes such woe!
She speeds the hard way, through the dark of Elmoth,
And behold! There is one who might save her,
Or who might drag her further into the ebony wood.
He might.
The enchantments dance in the air.
She sings in her cage of silver trees,
And the night settles further into shadow.
