Disclaimer: Okay! ^^; This is for Sei-Chan's Micro-fic challenge. I never realized
how tough it is to squeeze all these emotions into such a tiny word count, but
I think I've done okay. I think you can guess the characters before reading but,
I'm not giving anything away. ; I promise you you'll figure it out before the
last line.
No, I'm not any of those rich people who own Digimon.
Begin Word count!
My Wild Rose
I stared upwards into the misty night sky, the brilliance of the stars being fogged
by the minute water droplets that condensed themselves in its presence. I release a
longing sigh as I lower my gaze to the picture of you that I am holding tightly
against my chest. I allow myself to feel the love for you; a love that existence
you did not know; a love I would have to get over....someday. It was the last
image of you I have left in my belongings; and now there will never be another.
I admire your gorgeous hair, the color of a wild rose, outlining the beauty that
only your face would ever hold. All this, stilled forever on this paper. I struggle
to hold back the moisture that is forming against my bottom eyelid, but it releases.
I never did have the strength you did, I needed you with me through tough times...but
now you have left me with nothing but my laptop to help me once again. I return the
picture to my chest, imagining it was you in my arms and not a framed photograph.
My gaze returns to the distant stars, they being my only light left. How I wish you
had known before you flew away, My Wild Rose; destiny brought us together, was it also
your destiny to never know?
