Side of the Angels

(A Sherlock Monologue)

(Setting the scene: Takes place during the events of the Reichenbach Fall. Sherlock is on the roof talking to Moriarty. This is MY take on what Sherlock should have said, BBC owns Sherlock. Feel free to use, please give me (StillNotKing42) credit. Thanks. "Share and Enjoy.")

"I may be on the side of the angels, but don't think for a second that I'm one of them."

An angel wouldn't do what I'm about to do. An angel would hesitate, and try to save everyone, try to help everyone. An angel isn't selfish. I'm selfish. I will do whatever it takes to save my friends. I will do whatever it takes to win.

And, before you say anything, I am going to win. I know you think making me jump, making me die in shame, will make you the winner, but you're wrong. As long as my friends live, I'm the winner, if I live or die, if I jump or not. Whatever happens, I WILL WIN.

And you will lose.

Good always wins, but I'm not a hero, and I'm not good.

How am I going to win if I'm not good? That's easy. I'm you. I will do whatever it takes, that's why I'm going to win. Because I will do anything to save my friends. I will burn to save them.

You get it now, don't you? You realize that there is no way in hell that you can win. But wait. You've always known this, haven't you? You never thought you could win. You knew you couldn't beat "The Great Sherlock Holmes."

No, that's not it either. I see. You think you're winning right now.

IDIOT!

I thought you, of all people, were better than this. You say that you are the only person that can 'beat' me! Oh, Don't you see! I was winning from the beginning! From the moment you strapped a bomb on John, I was winning.

You see, I don't have a lot of friends, and I like to keep the friends I have. From the first moment you threatened John, it was over. I had won.

Are you entertained now? Are you still bored?

Your move, Moriarty.
