The door shut behind them. Mulder shot Scully one of those long looks. Scully rolled her eyes and made her way to the filing cabinet the cu-thunk of the drawer being pulled open startled Mulder and he spilled coffee on his new tie.
"Damn it!" Mulder said, Scully jumped ,"Oh, god." She said and made her way over to where he stood. "Let me." She said softly and she lay her hand on his tie, her fingertips barely brushing the silky cloth. She took the white handkerchief from his hands gently pulling it away until his fingers weapped aroung hers. She looked up into his soft gray-green eyes. Dana paused and they stood in the middle of the room, her breath caught in her throat as Mulder's soft hands gently wrapped around her back, pulling her closer. She tipped her head up as her orange-red curls flopped in front of her face.
His eyes were alight with that same determined, passionate sparkle. He pulled Dana even closer and brought one of his hands up her back cradling her neck.
And then he kissed her, softly at first as if even this small touch of his lips to hers could break her, shatter, like fragile glass. Then he kissed her fiercer, as if all the kisses, all the moments they never had could be made up, by this one kiss.
They pulled apart and Scully looked at her partner her eyes wide with fear about what would happen next, what they would do and say. But Mulder just flashed her that school boy smile and all of her fears melted away.
