Waiting
Some say love is a gift
I say love is pure and everlasting.
I told her I would wait 25 years ago
I am still waiting and will forever wait.
When I dream I see her perfect smile
But I know she is not mine.
Today I see her, she smiles at me
I hide my face under the mask
That I've been wearing for the past 25 years.
We were best friends, I loved her
But she loved my best friend.
I've made 2 big mistakes in my life
1.Not telling her I love her
2.My illegitimate son
She introduces her children
one looks exactly like the father
The other exactly like his beautiful mother
I introduce my son as I choke back my salty tears.
At that moment I knew she would never be mine
Now I can only watch from afar
And be there when she need s her best friend
But whatever it is I will continue waiting and will always wait
