Title: A Promise
Rating: G (for death and pregnancy and such)
Summary: The promise lays between them and the sea.
A/N: GOOD GOD It's been way too long, Sparrabeth. I've missed you, but no worries- I fear I shall be writing a lot more of you from now on! (I might or might not have watched a whole bunch of good sparrabeth videos and visited an old message board and renewed my love for these two XD)
A PROMISE
Jack felt the water beat against his feet before they submerged. Thinking quickly, he dropped the rope he was holding and grabbed Elizabeth's hands, knowing that he was the stronger swimmer. Kicking up, they soon broke the surface, the water washing off their tears. Elizabeth was content to just hold onto his hand, looking around the water for any signs of her lost husband.

He grabbed Gibbs' hand and hauled himself up on the deck, looking out over at the scene awaiting him.
About three months later, he would arrive to a small island on a dinghy, and solemnly looked up at a young blonde.
"This is what you meant by taking care of me?" Elizabeth asked, hand resting lightly over her stomach. "A pathetic dinghy?"
Jack smiled. "Nice to see your viper tongue back, darlin'."
