A/N: Hi there! This is a little something based on the song Won't even start by David Choi. I don't own anything.

What happened

After last summer

When we broke up

In September

He often wondered what had happened between him and Hermione. After the war, they'd had a good time together, but after spending the summer apart, she had broke up with hem at the start of term, saying it just wasn't working for her. He still couldn't wrap his head around it all. Had he done something wrong? Had she met someone else? He didn't know, and he wasn't sure if he actually wanted to know.

I haven't seen you

Feels like a long time

Sometimes it still hurts

But I always get by

She apparantly had taken her NEWTs during the summer, and didn't come back to Hogwarts, which left him, Harry and Ginny. It had only been two months since he had last seen her, but it felt like a really long time to him. He wouldn't admit it to anyone, but it still hurt him that she was gone. He pretended to feel great and he made it by, but not one day passed without him thinking about her.

I still got a piece of you under my skin

It's always there, no matter where I've been

So if I ever see you on the street

I'll pretend that I didn't see

And turn my face

No use in small talk anyway

Because if I look into your eyes

Then I'll have to say goodbye

And that'll break my heart

So I won't even start

She still was on his mind, and he doubted she would ever leave. Everywhere he went he expected to see her, but he didn't see for over a year. The first time he saw her again, was when he had just started working with George in the Joke shop. He was walking to the Leaky Cauldron, to get a drink before returning home, when he heard her laugh. Automatically his eyes found her on the other side of the street. She was surrounded by a small group of witches and hadn't seen him. Quickly he turned his head, pretending he hadn't seen her. He didn't want to take the risk of talking to her, because he wouldn't know what to say. If he looked into her eyes, he would only see a goodbye, and he wasn't planning on his heart being broken again. So he wouldn't be the one to start a conversation.

I wish you luck

And I wish it true

That's the best

I can do for you

In his mind he wished her good luck in life, and he truly meant it, because he wanted her to be happy. It was the best he could do for her, because she hadn't been happy with him. He had seen her about two times after that time in Diagon Alley, and still hadn't talked to her. Maybe he would never talk to her again. Who knew.

'Cause you'll probably find love

In someone new

I have to let go

Yeah it's hard to do

So if I run into you with your arm by his side

Just know that it'll cut me like a knife

She would probably find love again, but he realized that it wouldn't be with him. He knew he had to let go, but it was hard for him. She was his first love and he would never forget her. It was two years to the day after she had broken up with him when he saw her with someone else. He was on his way home, after a long day at work and decided to have a little chat with Hannah Abbot, who now owned the Leaky Cauldron, when he saw them. She was holding the hand of none other than ex-gryffindor and world famous quidditch player Oliver Wood and smiling. Seeing her like this, so happy with another man.. it cut trough him like a knife. It hurt, even though it had been two years.

So if I ever see you on the street

I'll pretend that I didn't see

And turn my face

No use in small talk anyway

Because if I look into your eyes

Then I'll have to say goodbye

And that'll break my heart

So I won't even start

No I won't even start
