She watches the small smiles

The hushed conversations

The silent staring that goes for miles

The gentle touches and concern.

She knows there is something

Going on between the two,

And yet she says nothing

Knowing he'll lie and hide

She had always thought she

Was his true love, but she wonders

If she was wrong and he

Is actually the one.

She sits for hours thinking

Refusing to speak as she

Figures it out, her body shaking

Then she realizes the truth

She is like a sister to him,

But the butler in black

Is the only light in his world dim

And she respects that, knowing he'll be happy.

She sits her cup steady

Her heart open, and her

Face void and empty

Of emotion, so she can speak

She tells him of how she has

Observed the two closely.

Of course he blushes and as

The butler smirks, tries to

Dissuade the young woman.

She shakes her head, and

Looks him in the eye and says,

"I know, and our friendship will never end."

She then stands, the once feelings for him, gone.

She had known for a while, but

Kept the secret locked deep.

That door is no longer shut

And she knows he'll be happy.

He's with the one he loves

And she will always be there

For the two sweet doves

She has come to know.

A/N: Just a poem I thought of while making the next chapter of my story, Thier Mistress, In the Arms of the Devil. It's about Elizabeth growing up, and giving Ciel away to Sebastian, but staying his friend despite it all.
