I'm working on a second part for my story Reunited but have terrible writer's block atm so I wrote this based on Season 13 Episode 1 Scorched Earth as it's the only one I didn't struggle to write. I only own the story. The show and it's characters all belong to Dick Wolf. Let me know if you enjoy reading this :)

Olivia entered her apartment and closed the door, leaning against the wooden door she closed her eyes and released a sigh of frustration. It had been a long day but it wasn't that draining day of crime solving that made her feel this way. It was something else. Olivia opened her eyes and looked across the room. She eyed the few picture frames sitting on her windowsill and slowly strolled over to the window. Olivia glanced at the one picture that had captured her attention and carefully picked it up, holding it in her hands. She exhaled softly as she gazed at the picture. It was of her and Elliot after an evening with the squad. Fin had taken the picture of the duo and gave it to Olivia for her to keep as he knew how close she and Elliot were. It was a fun night for them all, a rare sight for the team to wind down. It was one of Olivia's favorite memories with her squad and usually, it made her laugh when she thought back to that night but today she didn't feel like laughing.

Olivia's eyes pointed to Elliot in the picture and she felt her heartbreak. Her mind went back to when Cragen called her into his office and gave her the news that Elliot had put his papers in. She felt her heart stop at his words and she already knew Elliot wasn't coming back. It wasn't the fact he had shot Jenna that pained her, it was the fact he left with saying goodbye and didn't even think to mention to her he was leaving. That's what hurt her the most. She remembers straight after leaving Cragen's office she went into the interrogation room and cried. The only person she ever trusted with her life had left and didn't bother to say goodbye. Now staring at the only reminder she had of Elliot and the thoughts of today's events spiraling through her mind brought fresh tears to her eyes. Olivia tried to hold back the tears but couldn't help it. She chocked on a sob, covering her face with her while keeping hold of the picture frame in the other and leaned against the wall, dropping herself to the floor and hid her face in her knees. Olivia wrapped her arms around her knees, making sure she had blocked off the world before allowing her emotions to come forth. She was sat in a ball on the floor of her living room and cried for the one man she has ever loved. She tried to not fall in love with him but she couldn't help it. They had been partners for 12 years and in that time he became her best friend, the only man she could trust and he was the longest relationship she ever had with a man. She loved him and now that he had upped and left without so much as a goodbye killed her. The hot tears that streamed down her face and the pain she felt right now, indicated her heart was broken. She cried for the best friend and partner she ever had.
