Chapter One: Fate of The Exile

Aiden Surik sat cross-legged in meditation on the front porch of his home on Dantooine, his dirty blond hair draping over his shoulders, his thoughts drifted to the events of the last few months, Aiden had recently regained his connection to the force and for the first time in his life had found true love in the arms of his former student turned Jedi Master Brianna Kai. Aiden sighed as he thought of the Jedi Order particularly his old mentor Kreia, She murdered the old Jedi Council save Atris he flinched at the thought of the historian and their duel, then Kreia went on to endanger her friends on Malachor to draw Aiden into a final duel that meant her end, Kreia had told him he would have to leave them all behind to find Revan but Aiden made another choice. Brianna and Aiden married a few weeks later "I want to follow you through this life and the next Exile, I want to feel and explore the love my mother felt for my father, I love you Aiden Surik now and forever, will you marry me?"

"Aiden heard his wife's proposal inside his head as if she was right there asking him to marry her all over again, smiling now as he felt Brianna nearby slowly approaching the porch on which he was still sitting, Brianna walked slowly through their small home sensing her husband not far ahead she sighed "It just isn't fair to him, The Jedi cast him out and still call him The Exile save those he trained and yet we expect him to help rebuild" she said to herself as she approached the porch feeling his thoughts. Aiden opened his eyes as Brianna walked up behind him standing up just in time for Brianna to throw her arms around him from behind kissing him on the neck. "Hello to you too baby." Aiden said as he turned around and wrapped his arms around his wife kissing her softly in return. Aiden broke the kiss giving Brianna a curious look, "How did the Council meeting go?" Aiden asked. Brianna beamed a smile "Well there was a discussion about you today, those you trained that ended up on The High Council want you back in The Order, only a few like Atris are opposed to it even Grand Master Bastila Shan voted for it, she said to tell you they want you to be the next Battle Master" Brianna said with a smirk.

Aiden thought for a moment, he had always been close to Bastila indeed ever since he married Brianna she payed the occasional visit to the Surik family home over the last few weeks, she had confided in them about her search for her husband Revan, Aiden knew one day he would get the chance to help her but he knew that whatever Revan had left to do there was a reason he left alone, choosing not to bring anyone with him. "But what about our marriage I thought the Jedi didn't recruit family?" Aiden asked. Brianna gave him another long kiss looking for the best way to explain all this, "The Council has made an exception in our case because you are one of the last trained Jedi in the galaxy and we can't afford to be choosy." she said giving her husband another kiss. Aiden grinned at his lovely wife "Ok you talked me into it I will meet you and The Jedi Council tomorrow for now lets go to bed its late." Brianna grinned back at him with an almost flirty expression on her face "Very well love" she replied leading the way to the master bedroom.

Aiden and Brianna woke up the next morning and as usual, Brianna however could feel how nervous her husband was he was about to walk into the very academy that held so many memories both good and bad and go before the Jedi Council in hopes that he could regain his title as a Jedi Knight, to make matters more nerve racking The Grand Master wanted to put him on the Council as a way of reconciliation for what the old masters had done to him "Be at peace Aiden Surik today is our day to make things right with you for once" Brianna whispered through their force bond as she finished getting dressed and slowly they both made the long but relaxing walk to the Jedi Enclave. Aiden and Brianna arrived at the Jedi Enclave in due time and walked somewhat nervously to the Council Chambers.

Aiden and Brianna entered the chamber where five Masters were seated, Brianna turned to Aiden giving him a quick peck on the cheek then took her place. Aiden glanced around the room recognizing a few of the Masters, Atris the historian Grand Master Bastila and a man he thought was dead Jedi Master Kavar. Bastila "snapped him out of his thoughts by gesturing him to come forward giving him a warm smile. Bastila was the first to speak "Do you know why we have called you here Aiden?" Bastila said in her neutral voice. Aiden thought for one moment on his reply, "I was asked to come because The Council wanted to discuss my exile status." Aiden said. Master Kavar nodded giving his old Padawan a smile before he spoke "As I am sure you are aware the Jedi are still few in number and I like the Grand Master didn't fully approve of the old council's choice to remove your title, it was the main reason when Vrook tried to cut you off from the force I didn't help him as you no doubt felt through the force." Kavar nodded back to Bastila.

Bastila touched Aiden's mind through The Force, she felt his nervousness, and his surface memories of the second time the council kicked him out feeling a twinge of anger toward Vrook for mishandling the whole situation then she saw what Atris did to Brianna, "Aiden I called this meeting to inform you that Kavar, Brianna and I feel that you were mistreated by the old council, and by my right as Grand Master I hereby offer you a place back amongst the Jedi Order, as Battlemaster." she said. Aiden was shocked, he know she might ask him back and Brianna told him about the promotion that Bastila wanted to give him, but he still was having a hard time believing it was happening, he tried to find the words to speak "I accept Grand Master and thank you for everything." Aiden said bowing reverently.

Bastila decided to drop being so formal and got straight out of her seat and ran over hugging her friend tightly. "Welcome back Master Surik, oh and before you go I have one last gift, your old Lightsaber." she said placing the weapon in Aiden's hand as she released him from her hug. Aiden's jaw drooped seeing the saber he lost ten years ago now in his hand "Thank you Bastila thank you so much!" Aiden said with clear joy in his voice Atris over in her corner sighed rolling her eyes at the exchange while Brianna let tears of joy flow down her cheeks knowing her husband and former mentor was now a Jedi again "You are so getting lucky when we get home." Brianna whispered to Aiden through their force bond. Bastila nodded to the other masters "this meeting of the council is adjourned." Bastila said. Brianna rejoined her husband and the two walked home overjoyed at the day's events.
