Vision

Cassie sat in the chair. Her leg, bruised from sparring that morning, ached fiercely as she rubbed it.

Pritkin sighed behind her.

"It's not that bad," he said peering at her. She glared. "Well, it could have been worse." He said finally. Still he knelt and grabbed her calf. She hissed as he prodded the tender area.

"Watch it!"her leg twitched as he smoothed her sweats higher up her knee. He glanced at her and rolled his eyes. "I'm ticklish." She protested.

He gave a delicate snort.

"It'll be gone by the end of the week." He said decisively. He crouched in front of her as she sat in the chair. "Have you thought about that thing we were talking about?"

Marco interrupted.

"Cassie, you ok in here?"

Cassie nodded. "I'm going to put ice on my leg then go to sleep."

Marco glanced around the room suspiciously. "Alright, my dear. Sleep well." He left and Pritkin turned to her expectantly.

"Yes, I've thought about it." She said. She stood and so did he.

"Cassie…" He reached for her arm. She flinched back and turned away.

"I won't Pritkin." She walked to the bed and sat. She began by pulling off her shoes before flopping to lay exhausted on top of the covers. "I can't." she looked up at him with tear filling eyes.

Pritkin's green eyes went soft. "Cassie, it's something you need to do." Her eyes locked on the ceiling. He sat on her bed and leaned over her, one arm on the other side of her hip. "Cassie…"

Her tears fell silently. "I don't want to lose you." He smiled sadly.

"Cas, you don't really have me." He disappeared as she closed her eyes. Her bedroom door opened again.

"Cassie? Were you talking to yourself?" Marco asked. When he saw her tears he swore. "Ah, hell sweetheart."

"He's gone, Marco. He's really gone." She burst into sobs as Marco sat on her bed. He held her close as he soothed her.

"They're looking for him." The vampire said, patting her back gently. "They may find him, but Rosier is a tricky fellow."

Cassie looked up at him. "I still hear him, sometimes. Is there any way…" Marco was already shaking his head.

"I'm sorry sweetheart. If he's being kept in the demon realms, there's no way for him to be projecting or anything." Cassie buried her face in his chest.

A second later, she jerked back and Marco realized he didn't like the fiery look in her eyes.

"Marco, am I Pythia?" Marco gave her a look. "Am I Pythia before your masters girlfriend?" Marco paused for a moment.

"Cassie, I don't like this."

"Am I?" he nodded. "Good, then since my guard cannot come to me, I will go to him." She stood and the Pritkin in the corner shook his head. She ignored him.

"I'll be right back." Cassie says before shifting out.

Marco rolled his eyes. "Yeah, I've heard that one before."
