James walked into the house he and Lily had moved into a little over a year ago, a 6 month old Harry in his arms. He'd just taken him to visit Sirius, and he thought it was best to return home before it got dark outside, especially with the war that was currently going on. "Lils?" He called, shutting the door behind him and flicking his wand at it, casting a few complex locking charms.

"James!" she grinned, kissing her husband to sleep. "Shh!" she added. She was rocking baby Harry to sleep He smiled, kissing her back.

"Sorry, love. Did you have a good day?"

She nodded, still grinning. "and you?"

"Yeah," He said, brushing a strand of her hair away from her face. "Sirius says hi, by the way. What's gotten you so happy? Not that I'm complaining, of course."

"Harry smiled for the first time today!" she had to control her voice from screaming this, James felt. He laughed, and leaned down to kiss the top of his son's head.

"Pretty gutted I missed that," He admitted, with a small frown.

She laughed, "well we'd only see tears if we wake him up now. Looked exactly like yours though." she grinned "only toothless" she added with a smirk He chuckled, and ruffled Harry's hair.

"I'll have to make him laugh tomorrow then, won't I?" He grinned. She grinned.
