Reason Why I love Prim 1# Her curls
In the third grade I sat behind Primrose Everdeen in Mr. Bronx's music class. She would sway and bob along with the music, humming along. Those lustrous gold ringlets would bounce up, down, up, down. I always imagined strumming my fingers through that golden silk.
Reason Why I love Prim 2# Her eyes
When was 8, my father died. I remembered him picking me up, cradling me in his arms. He wouldn't care that Vick was the cute baby and Gale was the handsome, mature one. He'd pick up me. I was heartbroken when the coal mining accident occurred. I didn't realize that other children's parents hadn't survived as well.
I was walking back from school one day when I say a small girl crying on the sidewalk, by some garbage cans. It was obvious she had been looking for food, and by the way her satchel looked, she hadn't found any. So I remembered all the rules Gale had taught me about being a gentleman, and offered her my hand. A handkerchief would have been a nice touch, but the other boys would have teased me, and I was coming back from gym anyways.
She looked up at me, dumbfounded at my kindness. Tears were spilling over her long golden lashes It was then I realized just how blue her doe eyes were.
Reason Why I love Prim 3# Her laugh
When we were 12, Laisha Williams was the biggest jerk in school. She would spend hours gossiping about her so-called 'friends', and teasing and taunting anyone that was not in the social monarchy. I felt so lucky that I wasn't a girl, or my life would have been miserable.
That's how it was with Prim. You see, Laisha didn't like anyone that stole her spotlight. Prim couldn't help that she was popular, everyone just naturally liked her. What wasn't to like? She was the gentlest, kindest soul anyone had ever met.
It was lunchtime on a hot August day, and we were all sweltering. Cool drinks were being bought like hotcakes. We had all decided to just get water, but Prim had some extra-spending money and decided to get a small cup of juice, as a treat.
Laisha had been eyeing her the whole day. Now, if it had been any other girl in school, I would have just passed it on as jealousy. But the case was that this wasn't just any girl. This was Laisha Williams, and she always had something up her sleeve.
Now, do you think it was a coincidence that as Laisha was walking by Prim, she just happened to crash into her? Or the fact the sticky orange juice was all over Prim's beautiful skirt? The only strange thing I found in this was the fact that she was giggling her heart out, practically rolling on the floor. Her laughter bounced of the walls, ringing pure in our ears. Laisha stood there silently, basking in the creature that was Primrose Everdeen.
Reason Why I Hate Prim 1#
When I was 13, I was living in a non-existent district, District 13. Prim was working as a nurse for the hospital . She was once called for a special mission in the Capitol. We all knew the consequences of such a dangerous task, but she had promised me she would come home soon. I was worried for her, but her reassurance, satisfied me, if only a bit. She broke her promise. I hate Primrose Everdeen for making me fall for her.
