"Miya-hee, miya-hoo, miya-ho, miya-haha"
Xemnas remembered the first time Saix played the Numa Numa song. The blue-haired boy was still a child at that time; having only been a Nobody for perhaps a week, yet Xemnas had grown attached to him. He refused to admit it though, on the grounds that Nobodies do not have feelings. Yet that song infuriated him. At least once every week, Xemnas would enter his room to find Saix sitting on his bed, playing that song. And yet it went on like that for about a year. After a while, though, it had become a ritual of sorts, one of his favorite parts of the week, though he wouldn't tell Saix this.
Then, one day, he asked why Saix played this song every week. The blue-haired Nobody replied, "It pisses you off. You're always talking about how Nobodies can't feel, and yet you feel angry every time I play this song. So you see, you do have emotions…" he had trailed off at this point, staring up and Xemnas with big, golden eyes.
"Nobodies cannot feel, Saix," Xemnas had replied, "you know that. Not anger, not sorrow, not happiness, not hatred."
"What about love?" Saix asked timidly, looking down.
"Not love, either." That day had been the last that Saix ever played that song for him. It was also the last day that Xemnas saw the Diviner attempt to feel again.
In the years that followed, Saix had been more determined than ever to complete Kingdom Hearts. He was constantly at Xemnas' beck-and-call, and, truth be told, Xemnas wouldn't have it any other way. Still, he missed the old Saix, the one whose eyes still held that faint glimmer of hope, the Saix that would laugh as Xemnas curled up in a corner, covering his ears to block out the song.
Then, that fatal night came. Looking back, Xemnas realized that he shouldn't have sent Saix on that mission. When he heard that the Diviner had been felled by the Keyblade, he was beside himself with grief, despite telling himself that he wasn't able to feel at all. He retreated to his bedroom, fighting back tears, when he heard a familiar sound.
"Miya-hee, miya-hoo, miya-ho, miya-haha"
Xemnas turned to his stereo and studied it carefully. Lying on top was a piece of paper, covered in what he recognized as Saix' handwriting. He read it out loud to himself.
"Hello,
greetings, it's me, an outlaw,
I ask you, my love, to accept
happiness.
Hello, hello, it's me, Picasso,
I sent you a beep,
and I'm brave,
But you should know that I'm not asking for
anything from you.
You want to leave but you don't want don't want to take me, don't want don't want to take me, don't want don't want don't want to take me.
Your face
and the love from the linden trees,
And I remember your eyes.
I call you, to
tell you what I feel right now,
Hello, my love, it's me, your
happiness.
Hello, hello, it's me again, Picasso,
I sent you a
beep and I'm brave,
But you should know that I'm not asking for
anything from you."
Scrawled under what finally registered in Xemnas' mind as the English translation of the Numa Numa song, were the words, That's why.
