"Hey."
Tina flashed a smile at Mike as he leaned in to kiss her. "Hey yourself."
"What's that?" Mike asked curiously, pointing at the sheaf of papers that Tina held in her hand.
"To be honest, I'm not too sure myself. Santana just told me she's writing a song and asked me for my help." Tina's head was half buried in her locker as she tried to dig her calculus book out of the bottom of the pile. Mike automatically moved in to help her, and Tina smiled again as she moved to the side.
"What?" Mike asked, grunting slightly as he pulled it out. The book weighed a ton.
"Like I said, I'm not too sure myself." Tina answered, shrugging and closing her locker as the bell rang. She then turned to peck Mike on the cheek before taking her book from him. "I'm meeting her in the choir room after school. I'll find out more then."
"Just…be careful Tee." Mike replied, frowning slightly. He was worried; after all, Santana was, well…Santana. And asking Tina to help her with a song? Well yeah, Tina had really kick-ass musical skills, but still…
Tina glanced at her watch, eyes widening as she noticed the time. And her class was on the other side of the school. She then caught the worried look Mike had on his face and couldn't help but chuckle slightly at how cute he looked. She cupped her hands on his face, pulling him down slightly to kiss his frown away. "Don't worry Mike, I have your number on speed dial, and pepper spray in my bag. I'll be fine. Santana's not the only girl who can kick ass in this school. "
Mike couldn't help but grin slightly as the worry fell away when Tina said that. He pulled her hand up and kissed her knuckles, running his finger over it. "Fro-yo later?"
"That had better be a promise, Mike Chang. I'm gonna need it after this killer calculus class. After football practice? This songwriting thing should be done by then."
"It's a date. Walk you to class?" Mike asked, cocking an eyebrow at her.
"Why, I thought you'd never ask."
Tine looked bewildered as she got into Mike's car. As he eased the car onto the road, he shot her a worried look. "Everything okay?"
"Santana's writing a song called for Sam."
"Oh, that's nice." Mike commented, eyes on the road, signaling to turn into another lane.
Tina, still looking bewildered, turned to look at him. "She's calling it 'Trouty Mouth'."
"WHAT?" Mike instinctively stomped on the brakes and turned his head to look at her so fast a distinct crack could be heard. A car honked from the back, and Mike reluctantly turned his head back to focus on the road, wincing slightly from the crack in his neck. "She's calling it what?"
"Trouty Mouth." Tina repeated, using her hand to massage Mike's neck. "Now focus on the road. I'll let you read the lyrics when we reach 'OrangeOrange'.
A huge grin appeared on Mike's face as he put down the lyrics. "Oh, this is going to be EPIC. Sam's face is going to be priceless."
Tina just smiled as she popped another spoonful of icy heaven in her mouth. She'd reacted pretty much the same way that Mike had when Santana told her what she wanted to sing about. She'd warmed up to the idea equally as fast.
They couldn't wait for Glee.
AN: When I first saw this episode, I was pretty amused at Mike's reactions to the song Santana was singing to Sam. More so than that, I couldn't help but feel that Mike had known ALL about it from Tina, who did, after all, help Santana with it. Which would explain his answering to Sam's question and his expressions during the song. He and Tina looked like they were fighting to keep themselves from bursting into laughter (in my head anyway), and so, voila. This fic was born. Hope you enjoyed it!
