It snowed here today; so I decided to write a fanfic on snow. I hope you like it ^w^ reviews make me haaaaapyyyyy ;)
Who knows, I may turn this into a multi-chapter story with all different stories about the weather… review and tell me if this is a good idea or not! (pretty please)
White is all Matt sees, when he wakes up and looks out the window. It contrasts wildly with the dingy motel room, so the pure light flooding through the window blinds him temporarily.
White is the colour of angels' wings, white is the colour of dazzling radiance. White is the colour of Mello's pale skin.
Snowflakes drift down. Some are big, some are small, all are perfectly formed. When they hit the ground, when they hit their target, the thing they have been aiming for all their short life, they melt away into nothing.
Matt leans further into the window in a desperate attempt to see the dark grey of polluted streets. But all that is familiar to him is gone, replaced by a brand sparkling new layer of white.
Mello murmurs in his sleep and turns away from Matt and away from the window. If Matt looks at him for long enough, he can kid himself that Mello is sleeping in a bed of snow, where all the snowflakes aim, where all the snowflakes disappear.
Matt opens the window and an icy breeze flies in along with delicate flakes of snow. They land on the table, and on the sofa and melt immediately. They land on Mello's cheek and there they stay. Not melting. Not moving. Maybe Mello's cheek was their target all along. For every thousand of their friends that land outside and die, one will reach their ambition. And if just that one does something, then maybe all of the deaths were worth it.
Matt shuts the window abruptly, and walks quickly over to Mello. Kisses the delicate ice carving away. Destroys the snowflake.
White is the colour of a glint off a blade, white is the colour of a mist that stops you in your tracks.
White is the colour of skulls.
