Only a few moments ago she could feel everything.
She could sense the earth under her boots, the water in the air, the warmth from the sun. It was everywhere, the feeling of completion.
It took only a few seconds for Amon to take it away.
He ripped it away from her, feeling as if the man had torn off one of her limbs.
She went limp, not only from being dropped, but the fact that her entire body had become numb.
She barely paid attention to Mako's fight, trying, so very hard, to sense the things around her.
The sense of the air around her barely aroused any interest, her senses trying to locate the fire in her heart, the water, the earth-
nothing.
Then she realized, the danger that her friend was in.
No.
Not Mako too.
She was out, and so was Lin. She couldn't let another of her friends fall.
Before she could even think about it, she got up, and then Amon was flying.
Mako's wide eyes answered her question.
She can still bend!
She was suddenly thankful that she hadn't connected with the Air beforehand.

She stared at Katara, her feeling of dread growing.
"I'm sorry Korra, but... there's no way. Whatever he did to you- not even bloodbending would help. It might even do something worse to your body."
"But you have to try-"
"Korra. I can't. I'm not like Amon's family that can bend at any given moment. I have to wait until the full moon."
She grew still before closing her eyes, fighting back the urge to cry. Not even her joy at unlocking the ability to Airbend could help. All she could feel was the sense of loss.

She stared out at the ocean, her arms crossed over her legs. All the elements were so close, and the want to bend was great.
But if Katara couldn't help her, who could?
She gave a soft cry, tightening her arms. It hurt.
She knew what Bei Fong felt like now, about her loss of the earth. She reached out with a hand, wishing she could change what had happened.
A swish of clothing made her tense.
Aang's arrival was surprising.
She'd never been able to do this before.
Avatar Aang, Avatar Roku, Avatar Kyoshi-
All of the previous Avatars, watching her with calm, warm eyes.
xXx
It felt like a dream.
It felt like she had been dreaming her loss, her inability to do what she once could.
Now...
Now she could be called the Avatar.
Relaxing and breaking the bond that held Lin's bending away from her grasp made her realize what she could now do.
Aang learned how to take away another's bending.
Now, I can bring it back.
