Jack wasn't accustomed to being the one in charge of coffee runs, so he ducked into the first clean shop he saw. When he did he was greeted with the strangest sign he'd ever sign, and that was saying something in his book.

"Hella fucking gay...desperately single." He chuckled, shaking his head.

The barista hadn't noticed his arrival and was still fiddling with cleaning machinery when he walked to the counter. After a few moments, he cleared his throat. The barista jumped, head whipping in his direction.

"Oh, be right with you." He said, setting down the blender parts and wiping his hand on a nearby towel. "What can I get for you?"

"Three tall coffees, leave them black, and a small bag of creamer and sugar packets." Jack smiled.

"Right." The barista nodded, already working on his order.

"So I know you're single. Do I get to know your name too?" Jack grinned as the barista nearly dropped a cup. "Or is that part of your mysterious charm?"

"Ianto." The barista blurted. "Listen, that sign...it's just...well I lost a bet, you see."

"You should gamble more often." Jack teased, leaning against the counter.

"Is that your professional opinion?" Ianto countered, surprising him.

"More of a credible, personal opinion." Jack chuckled.

"What's your name?" Ianto asked.

"Captain Jack Harkness." Jack said.

Ianto gave a small smile and pulled out a second bag, putting two breakfast sandwiches in it and wrote 'Jack's breakfast. No one else touch' on the top after taping it closed. He put the three coffees in a carrier and slid the two bags with it across the counter, moving to the register to ring his order.

"That'll be five pounds for the coffees." Ianto said.

"And the sandwiches?" Jack asked.

"Did I say and the sandwiches?" Ianto quirked an eyebrow. "Five pounds please."

"Yes, sir." Jack grinned, handing him the money.

"Enjoy the rest of your day." Ianto smiled.

He moved away and in one fluid motion Jack reached across the counter and grabbed his wrist, pulling him closer. With his other hand he pulled out a marker and wrote his personal number on the back of Ianto's hand. Ianto blushed furiously but didn't fight his grip.

"Ianto." Jack leaned forward and kissed his knuckles before releasing his hand. "I look forward to hearing from you."

Ianto was speechless, cheeks flushed as Jack picked up his order and strode out without hesitation.
