Four Elements

Disclaimer: All of these characters belong to J.K. Rowling- I just like to have fun with them.

James is air. Like it, he is omnipresent--always hovering above you, yet forever untouchable. He is the sharp intake of breath when you witness something extraordinary, and the irregular exhale of long awaited laughter. He is the wind in your hair during Quidditch practice. Like the air, James is constant and immortal, eternally a part of your life, yet you will be forever unable to grasp him. James will always remain just beyond your reach.

Peter is water. Calm and flat on the surface, but with hidden undercurrents and inner turmoil. Peter is troubled, like water after a storm, and Peter is dark, like water before the dawn. Like water, Peter will always hold another's reflection. Like water, Peter will always take the shape of his surroundings.

Sirius is fire. At times warm and inviting, and at others searing and consuming. Like the fire, Sirius will devour you when out of control, and like fire, he can be tamed and used. He is a source of light and warmth, yet can be too hot, too passionate and decisive, to come close to. He is your comfort when you are alone and your weapon when you are cornered. Like fire, Sirius brings protection. Like fire, Sirius brings danger.

Remus is earth. He is solid and composed, fertile and diverse. To the unaccustomed eye, he may seem dry or closed off, but those of sharp perception will see a never ending source of knowledge and growth. Remus, like the earth, is the one you will always eventually return to, and the one who will forever wait for you. Like the earth, Remus is strong and unyielding, and like it, he too can erupt-unexpectedly and wildly.
