The Second Gospel of Sam
3
Now, in the city of Boston the followers of Seamus came together once again for a meeting.
From the West came Harold of Lightning, from the South came Samson of Metal, and from the North came Sylvia of Wood, gathered there by the call of Rebecca of Ice, who had remained in the city.
And Rebecca addressed the others thus:
"Masters of Metal, Wood and Lightning, Fire, Water, Earth and Air, I have gathered you here because of the threat of Gareth.
"His minions are numerous—in fact, he has convert dozens more in Canada, which he intends to use to destroy us.
"The only solution is to unify.
"Already has Sylvia tasted his fearsome glory, an she knows how destructive he is.
"Only my powers can defeat his, for I am the greatest Water-Master.
"You must lend me a bit more of your strength to fight Gareth's evil."
But we were all of us deceived—Rebecca's sweet words destroyed us, for she stole Samson's power over Earth, and Harold's power over Fire, rendering them weak, and herself mighty.
Yet before she could attain the Wood-wielding powers of Sylvia, a shout came forth from John of Water, a follower of Rebecca:
"Stop! You are deceived! Rebecca wants only the power to rule alongside Gareth—she desires him more than she desires our safety!"
And Rebecca roared with rage, and struck out with devastation, and slew John on the spot.
Rebecca then fled, and was followed by Milo of Water and Frederick of Air, who remained loyal to her, perhaps out of fear, or perhaps love, for Rebecca's beauty and power were unmatched.
