A/N: Since I still can't get over this show, please have some fluff and babies.
He is half-awake as he hears her collapse into the bed next to him. It is finally silent, for the first time in what feels like a million years. Since the twins were born, it's only ever quiet for about ten minutes a day. Bong Soon starts snoring within milliseconds, and he is just as quick to fall back asleep.
Then it starts again. The incessant crying. Bong Soon shoves him, only partially conscious. "Go."
He rolls over, burying his face in the pillow as if it will make the noise go away. "You go."
"But," she grumbles, "I just got back."
The fog in his brain starts to clear, and he jolts upright as he realizes what he's being asked to do. "Bong Soon-ah. I can't."
"They're your children too." She doesn't even look at him. She doesn't even bother to open her eyes.
"Do you see what state I'm in?" he asks, holding out a severely-bruised arm directly in front of her face. "I'm black and blue because of them. They'll really kill me at this rate."
The crying only grows more intense. Great, he thinks. Now they're both awake. "Hurry! Just go already!" she says again, pushing his arm away and pulling the pillow over her head.
"You don't know because you're like them," he starts, "but it really hurts. Seriously. I could really die."
"Then go die!" she almost shouts, flinging herself onto the bed in frustration. "Just go!"
He slowly gets out of the bed in total defeat, walking towards the twins' room and his certain doom. They are both still crying, and when they're both awake, they're doubly lethal. No one had warned him that their strength came coupled with almost-perfect aim, but his battered face and arms are solid evidence of that. He pauses outside the door, trying to prepare himself for the violence awaiting him, when suddenly the crying stops. He waits several moments before slowly opening the door, and truly, by some miracle, both of them are soundly asleep, and his brush with death is fortuitously avoided.
He falls back into bed, the exhaustion coming back in full force. "Min Hyuk-ah," says Bong Soon, sounding slightly more awake. "Thank you, really."
"Yeah," he mumbles.
"I love you."
He can't stop the grin that spreads across his face, and he decides that the bruises and batterings are probably worth it, after all.
