Never Been Kissed

Chapter 1
Yeah I know, cheesy title. But I can't say it isn't the truth. At the ripe age of eighteen, I have yet to be kissed. I've never had a boyfriend, a relationship with a guy in anyway unless prom counts, and certainly no dates yet. Sure I've liked guys and I've read enough fanfiction to get me feeling some type of way, but it just hasn't happened.
To be honest, most of my friends in high school never dated either; it might have been because my high school was filled with overachieving academic students whose goals in life depended solely on their grades and what college they attended. Then again, it could have also been because the guys in my school weren't super attractive. Though I think over fifty kids from my school ended up going to Berkeley this year, but who cares? College in my opinion, is what you make of it. Anyway, quite a few of my friends have started dating or partying a lot more since going to college and the ones who do get boyfriends offer me this one piece of advice.
"Forget about looking, stop searching, and it'll happen."
I know what you're thinking. It's what I'm thinking too. Forget about it? How can you forget about guys. They're frickin everywhere. Especially where I go, they're all extremely attractive. It's so hard NOT to think about it. I decide that the best way to follow their advice is to be as natural as possible. Most of my friends actually tend to be guys and once you get to know them, it really is quite simple to be normal and relaxed with them. Then there are the few who are your friends at first and then they become someone you all of a sudden find yourself attracted to. What to do then? well you're fucked. Just kidding, clearly I've never been out of the friendzone, but I do know its possible to get from a level of friendship to a level of relationship. Don't ask me how though, I just know its happened.
So I've taken my friend's advice and decided to let life happen. Surprisingly, being one of the only girls in my coding class this quarter has made me quite the commodity. I'm not even a computer science major, but I'm thinking of switching and the number of guys in this class just motivates me more and more. Guys are plenty in this class with a ratio of eight to two, but as one once said, "The odds are good, but the goods are odd." Its not that the guys are odd, but they aren't all ten out of tens. So I'm living my life "right", going with the flow and meeting new people, both guys and girls, making friends and all that till one day it happens.
I walk into my coding course early that day, its maybe the third day of class of the new quarter and its the only day possible that I can even come in early. A guy walks in in front of me and he turns around when he sees me turn on the lights in the dark and empty room. A few others fill in, but as I sit down he decides to sit in front of me. He turns halfway towards me and sits there for a while not saying anything. I'm on my phone casually biding my time trying to ignore that the fact he's right there not really doing anything but sitting sideways in his desk. For about five minutes he positions himself like that till he turns around and goes, "Hi, I'm Edward."
A/N: Well that's about it for now. Hope you enjoy my first attempt at Fanfiction and I'll try to post the next chapter real soon, please give any reviews or feedback you wish. Anything is helpful for a beginning writer!
