Hey guys. This is the first Waterloo Road fic that I've posted on here, although it's not the first I've written. Some of you may know me as Hanizzle from the Waterloo Road forum, and I posted this there as well, in case you're reading this wondering why you're getting deja-vu. This oneshot is quite angsty, and I have nothing to say for myself, except that it was born from a pure bout of insomnia. So, enough of me babbling. Here goes.....................
One Word
*Bang!*
One word that meant more in as a mere sound in a mere moment that millions had before it. This was one word, and one sound that changed two lives forever...
*Bang!*
"Excuse me, are you calling me a liar?!"
"Oh, I'm far too much of a gentleman to do that."
"Really, are you now?"
It is moments like this which render us motionless, untouchable by danger, protected. Nothing can cut through the passion in this moment. Nothing. Not even...
*Bang!*
In a park on a late Spring night, two lone figures strolled, locked in an unbreakable embrace; one strong left arm encased around one small, slender waist. Each of these figures wore matching smiles - loving smiles - as they stopped every now and then to catch a few kisses. But this love was unbreakable. Nothing or no one was going to break this loving bond, even if they were each sent to opposite sides of the world. Even if...
*Bang!*
Nothing could have prepared them for what was about to happen. No one told them it would. They had been joined in the park by one other, a man. A man who - for a while - walked a few feet away from them at all times. A man whom neither of them knew. But a man who who held the very thing that could ruin all of their happiness at the blink of an eye or the pull of a trigger, all encircled in his right hand...
*Bang!*
It was all over. The man had taken a wallet, and had destroyed more than one life.
He sat on the cold, hard concrete of the ground - a lone Maths teacher - tears streaming his face as he stared at the love of his life. He had not cried like this in years. Not since Stephen. Not since...
*Bang!*
And Rachel Mason was dead.
Well??? What do we think??? Please review. They will be much appreciated :) x
