Summary: Naruto arrives back at Konoha after his training with the toads to discover it in ruins. He finds Hinata injured but alive and decides that he can't keep his feelings to himself anymore.

A/N: Here's another song-fic that I came up with. It's a late birthday present for Naruto. The song is Never Gonna Be Alone by Nickelback. Enjoy!

Never Gonna Be Alone

Naruto stood at the edge of the ruins of what used to be a great Shinobi village. Konoha was gone, completely destroyed in that attack by Pein. He wandered the corpse laden streets staring at the destruction. If only he had gotten here in time. He stopped when he saw a familiar figure lying next to another fallen comrade.

Naruto ran to her side and gathered Hinata up in his arms. Lavender eyes fluttered open. Hinata looked up into the concerned blue eyes of the boy she had loved for as long as she could remember.

"N…Naruto?" she whispered, she was afraid to speak any louder hoping this wasn't a dream.

"Hai," he answered smiling softly. And just as softly he started to sing to her:

"Time is going by

So much faster than I

And I'm starting to regret not spending all of it with you

Now I'm wondering why

I've kept this bottled inside

So I'm starting to regret not telling all of this to you

So if I haven't yet

I've gotta let you know"

She smiled softly as she heard him sing. She never knew Naruto was this good at singing. Neither of them noticed as the rest of the Rookie 9 gathered around. Naruto continued the song unmindful of all the people watching:

"You're never gonna be alone

From this moment on

If you ever feel like letting go

I won't let you fall

I'll hold you till the hurt is gone"

Naruto finally noticed the others gathered around him and he broke off the song.

"Don't stop Naruto, you really good." Sakura urged her teammate. The others agreed. Naruto looked down at the girl in his arms and she smiled encouraging him to continue.

"And now as long as I can

I'm holding on with both hands

Cause forever I believe

That there's nothing I could need but you

So if I haven't yet

I've gotta let you know

Naruto helped a shaky Hinata to her feet. She clung to his side not wanting to let him go. And together, with the rest of their friends, they walked through the village helping anyone in trouble, all the while Naruto continued to sing:

You know it's only just begun

Naruto finished the song and looked around at the village. There was a lot of work to be done to get it back to the way it used to be, but with his friends and Hinata with him he was sure they could do it. And once it was finished it was going to be stronger than it was before. He was going to make sure of it. He had too much to protect to let this happen again.
