A/N: I just love Gail with Chris (they're kinda my otp, to be honest). The way they fit so well together even though they're complete opposites makes me want to love them more. Anyway, 'you' is referring to Gail. Enjoy.

You rest your head on his chest and listen to the even rhythm of his heartbeat. It's steady, thunderous in his chest but all the while soothing. Images of the night before replay in your mind and you close your eyes, somewhat nervous and relieved.

You'd given a piece of yourself to him.

You'd given a piece of yourself to Chris Diaz and surprisingly don't regret it. You don't regret letting him know more about you (ahem, physically) even if it was hard at first. You lay a small kiss on his peck and look at his sleeping, unaware peaceful face. You think about those hazel eyes of his and wonder if they could get any lighter; they're beautiful.

For the first time in a long time, you feel you're worth something, even if it's someone who makes you feel that way.

Officer Chris Diaz seems to be your weakness and you accept that. You accept that he can make you feel weak and break down your tough exterior because he just can.

You don't think you don't deserve him – that he's too good for you. You think he's perfect for you because he's everything you're not.

His innocence, kindness and oblivious nature to things going on around him made a little piece of you envy him. He was the icon of happiness for most people and you reject that he is for you. (Even though deep down inside of you, you know he is.)

Your fingers play with his short hair while your feet entangle underneath the covers. It's snowing outside and you think this day can't get any better; you have Chris, the snow and just the feelings you share with him. It's enough for you as he opens his eyes to reveal the pair of hazel eyes that enthrall you every time you look into them. He gives you a quirky smile and you can't help but return it; he's just too damn adorable.

As you lean over to kiss him, you ask yourself the last time you felt so giddy about someone. Sadly, you can't recall.

He responds eagerly and you smile into the kiss, your hands on either side of his face. You then straddle his hips and send him a sultry look while all he can do is look up at you and wait.

The word love pops up in your head at that moment and for the first time in your life; you accept that word as what you have with Chris.

It isn't so bad, you tell yourself.
