A/N: This is actually quite a personal poem that I wrote for myself, and came across earlier. It reminded me of Byakuya, who I empathise with. So yeah, poem entitled 'days' © Laura Sloane…
All my days seem to blend into one
I feel so very old, yet so very young
My heart beats the tears that don't fall from my eye
I've made a promise to God, I will never cry.
Life may hurt me or knock me around
And people will try and push me aground,
But I won't show them my fears and I'll never forgive
I'll harden my heart for all the days that I live.
You won't penetrate my shield with your hearts of stone,
The reason is simple: I have one of my own.
Scream and rage to your god, don't cry to me
I am blind to your problems, I refuse to see.
I don't believe in suffering, and I don't enjoy hate
But I wish to be alone, for the hour is late.
Too late to turn back, all my anger is gone
For it's true what they say, if you are not weak you are strong.
I have something to prove, and so I shall,
I refuse to live in this bleak, icy hell.
This is a promise to no one but I
And it's how I will live until I die:
I will not waste my time with remorse or sorrow,
I won't think of those, the sun will still rise tomorrow.
I'll endure and be patient, though life is a test
And I'll leave despair and hatred to all the rest,
I'll surrender my burdens and go on with my life
The truth of the world is dealing with strife.
Go on with your tears, and all your aches,
Cry, yes, cry until your heart breaks
But all your days, do not come to me –
I am blind to your problems – I WILL NOT SEE!
