Greetings and felicitations, all!

I am KartoffelFogel, a writer of this site, or at least I was, years ago. I have written stories that some of you may remember—though it is unlikely. I completed my Oracle epic as my first full work—I then wrote poetry for a little while, before embarking upon my much more popular Wingbeat story.

I never finished Wingbeat, since I found an even better way to release my creative urges—a site that better suited my writing needs. Often, we come here to tell tales, to let loose our own imagination—but often, we simply lack the patience to complete a full story. We start out strong and peter out slowly…in my native language, this mindset is known as ningas-cogon. Literally, "the mind of grass" for grass burns swiftly but dies down swiftly as well.

Often, it's easier to work with others who can pick up where you left off. This is how chain stories and collaborative writing groups are formed—but there is another alternative.

The RPG.

The Role-Playing Game.

To write well and frequently—in shorter installments—so that another may pick up where you left off. This creates a fast-paced, exciting, but more relaxing way to tell a story. Even better—you never know where it ends up! Different writers add their own tone, helping to build a rhythm to the plot.

I left for the Halo RPG—while I do not mean to lure you there, away from this site, I'd like to clue you in to the fact that there are alternatives.

And yes, this is an advertisement. But can you, in good faith, avoid clicking this link? It is a link to The Hunt, a tale of Sangheili warriors on the hallowed Covenant world of Templar's Rest. You'll find it an intriguing read.

Click, and give it a try. You'll surprise yourself at how easy and enjoyable roleplaying is.

In case the link does not function, merely Google "The Halo RPG."
