A poem to Martha, from Mary
When I saw you
I thought you were weird
I thought I couldn't trust you,
That you weren't nice
And you, you weren't surprised
But when the days went past,
I learned to like people,
And you were one of the people
That I liked
I couldn't believe that your mum
Gave me a skipping rope
And she had children of her own
And that day, I learned to trust you
More and more
From that day that I ate a whole porridge
That tasted so nice,
I knew that you were proud of me
And that day, I learned that I should always take your advise
From the day
That I found the Secret Garden
I learned how to keep secrets
And if you weren't there
That year; that day
I wouldn't have anyone
To keep my secrets away from
Thank you for everything Martha, you are so special… Mary
