A/N:I have absolutely NO IDEA where I came up with this fic! Anyway, here is the first chapter. Hope U like! Also, means switching to another character

Chapter 1: First Friend
The bell rang, signaling the end of class. Kamaiki sighed. She'd walk home, alone, just like every other day of this school year so far. "I've been here for well over a month, and I haven't made a single friend yet."she thought, rather moodily.
A few seconds later, Kamiki was outside.(A/N:Kamiki moves fast!) Starting the long walk home. Why did her Aunt Jesuka have to live so far away from school? Kamiki shifted her backpack so that it wouldn't bounce when she ran. She liked running, enough to time herself any and every time she did, everyday after school. Aunt Jesuka; or Jessie, as she preferred, lived just a little more than a mile away from school. Kamiki could run that in five minutes flat.(A/N:told ya she's fast!-)
Kagome was thinking as she walked home from school. She was thinking about the new girl, she didn't have any friends yet. Suddenly, the girl Kagome was thinking of bolted past. Instantly, Kagome broke into a run, easily staying right behind Kamiki. Soon, though, Kagome began to tire. She was wondering when Kamiki would stop, when the girl began to slow down. Kamiki stopped in front of a two-story, cream-colored house and pulled out a key.
"Hey Kamiki… I wanted to ask you something…" Kagome panted, a few yards away.
"Hm? Oh, hello." Kamiki said, not even close to being out of breath. "Did you want help on homework? If so, don't ask me, 'cause I haven't even started."
"Well I just wanted to know if you wanted to be friends. I, er, thought you might be lonely, not having any friends right now….." Kagome let her voice trail off.
"Doesn't really matter to me if I've got friends or not. I don't really care." Kamiki quickly turned her face so that Kagome wouldn't see the tears. She shoved the key into the lock, keeping her face turned away. "Look, if you to work on homework with me. That's fine. Come on."
Kagome smiled, she wanted Kamiki to have at least one friend. "Maybe I should bring Kamiki with me to the Feudal Era sometime. So that she can meet Inuyasha, he might like her."Maybe, with luck, Kamiki could have more than one or two friends. That's what Kagome hoped, at any rate.
Late that night, Kamiki lay on her back in bed, wide awake. "Maybe I've got a chance here after all. Kagome really did try hard to be my friend. I'll give it a shot. I just hope this friendship won't end in some sort of disaster, like what happened to Kelsey." Kamiki fell asleep with unshed tears in her eyes because of the memory. What happened next was the strangest thing that had ever happened in her life.
