A/N: The bold he and the italicized he refer to two different people (revealed at the end, if you can't already guess XD) The story switches PoV with each break...so that's almost every sentence...haha..feel the weird whims of this author. Please READ and REVIEW at the end!
Disclaimer: Last I checked, I didn't own PoT, but that doesn't stop me from dreaming...

Fuji always noticed; the small, discrete smiles that were directed at him, the unwavering gaze, the way He seemed enamored with him. It wasn't hard to see, or understand. After all, the boy was talented. Very much so from what he could tell from that one unfinished game they had. To say that Fuji didn't mind would be a lie. Every time he noticed, it pulled at his heartstrings. But he being the ever smiling Tensai Fuji Shusuke, he did what everyone expected of him, smile. Hardly ever letting it waver. What else could he do in such situations?
He had noticed. Noticed Fuji's sudden distance and not so sincere smile. He knew Fuji, hard as it may be to believe. He could tell when Fuji wasn't quite acting like himself. He didn't really know why though. They used to talk about things, but that didn't happen anymore. It's been a while since they had a real talk.
He wanted to talk. It's been a while since they last talked. Not that there was much to talk about. Except for him. But Fuji didn't want to talk about him. So he rambled on about nothing and everything.
The two boys walked slowly as they left Seigaku together, heading towards the Fuji residence and Fuji's home.
It reminded Fuji of another time they walked together like this. That one special time that winter during their second year.
He was reminded of another time they walked home together. They shared an umbrella and the first snow of the year.
He stopped walking very suddenly. Fuji turned to look at him, a question on his lips.
"Fuji, I love you."
Fuji didn't know what to say. It couldn't be true. He couldn't be in love with Fuji. He was in love with him.
He noticed that Fuji wasn't smiling anymore.
"Aren't you in love with Echizen?"
Fuji hadn't thought it possible for a statue to smile, which was probably why no one has ever noticed his smiles, but he was smiling now. Not a very noticeable one, but still a smile.
"No."
"But what about Echizen?"
"That's tennis. This isn't."
Tezuka couldn't help but love, yes, love, the pure and genuine smile that Fuji had sometime, that he had now.
"I love you, too."
