Title: Simplicity And It's Complications
Rating: PG-13 to be safe, but that may be lowered...

Disclaimer: I don't own anything that you recognize from the Harry Potter series.
Summary: Life's simple, life's complicated...most of the world is divided between these two statements (the majority leaning towards the latter, and who can blame them?). But what if neither was correct? Story of my life...PG-13 to be safe
A/N: I've been thinking about this storyline for a few weeks now, and I figure now would be a good time to write it, so here I go!
I, Lillian Marie Evans, always believed the world was so complicated. It's what they always said in the old movies, and when I was young, adults always told me two different things about life. One, that life's tough, and two, that life's complex. It was always one or the other, never both. Of course, that probably only happened because they didn't want to scare a five-year-old into hiding under her bed so life wouldn't come after her. That was what usually happened when something like this was said to me.
But my mom was always there on my bedroom floor with me. Sometimes she would lie underneath my bed with me, and we would talk until I was ready to come out. We would talk about things that I didn't understand. She almost always had an answer, which reassured me. But what also reassured me was the fact that there were some things she didn't know. For some reason, this was exciting for me. I kind of liked the idea that some things in life were unexplainable.
If there was one very important thing that we both didn't understand, it was why people thought life was complicated. Funny thing is, it took me awhile to realize that we were talking about different things. I thought life was simple because my world was made up of crayons and big, white, walls (I wasn't the least troublesome kid in the neighbourhood). The first time I told my mom this though, she just shook her head and smiled. When I asked her why she did this, she said, quite simply, "You'll understand one day, Lily," and then changed the subject.
I never really paid attention to this statement. I figured she was just teasing me like all those other grown-ups. Only recently did I discover that I was completely and entirely wrong...
A/N: That's the first chapter, if you could call it that. Really, it's just a bit of a beginning. More will be written soon!
