Also, please keep in mind that this is not really my best writing, but I'm still quite proud of it considering my age when it was written, and how far my writing has come.
(a/n) I know a lot of people do songfics, but not as many people do songfics with songs that aren't necessarily romantic. Personally, I don't like it when people write two lines of the song, then something about the character's feelings, then two lines, etc. so I am going to write out all of the lyrics, and then have my story. This is about Annabeth, why she ran away (assuming she didn't know about camp) and all that stuff. Sorry if the tense switches, I'm not used to writing in present/future tense if it's not first person.
These days, it seemed like it would be an understatement to say that Annabeth is bored.
To go into detail, it would be more like "incredibly uninterested, fed up, bored out of her mind, and into tears". But that would only be stating the obvious.
To live, to breathe, to die. It's not enough for her. Somehow, it's all too . . . normal.
Annabeth wants to travel. She wanted to see the world. What she doesn't want? To be stuck in an apartment with her dad, and the dreaded stepmom.
She wants to be challenged, because following all the rules doesn't always work out. Who cares if she's only seven? She can make her own decisions.
Annabeth knows that when she is older, she wants to be able to let down her inner walls for someone. She wants real friends for once.
Annabeth doesn't care that it's not sensible for a seven year old to run away. She had relied on common sense her whole, short life. Maybe it's time to let her instincts kick in for once.
She knows that if she just gets to see the world once, all of the magnificence, she'll be happier at home. So what if she messes up along the way? To her, it will be a beautiful disaster.
She doesn't want to wait until she could drop dead any second. Annabeth has her whole life in front of her. She wants to know what it will be like!
Sitting at home isn't enough! She wants someone to find her, someone to capture her, someone to save her life! Anything other than the dreaded normal!
Basically, Annabeth Chase is not going to sit still and let herself be ordinary. She will do whatever it takes. Anything but ordinary! Never again will Annabeth plan on being normal.
(a/n) Hope you like it! Tell me what you think the genre should be. And yes, this is the song for the contest in my other story. I probably should have done something different, but this is my all-time favorite song.
