Sweet Punishment

Tragedy/Hurt-Comfort, T, drabble-fic, and grammar mistakes.

Again, I own nothing but the plot and gain nothing but to entertain only.

A knock on the door, and Sirius opened his eyes half-heartedly. Who, in the world, dared to disturb his beautiful sleep?

"Come in."

The door opened slowly and made a creaking sound. A familiar silhouette of his brother came to his eyes, and Sirius was reminded of the existence of the only one who dared to do that to him.

Was Regulus crying before?

"What's wrong, Reg?"

The dark-haired boy with teary eyes came in. He walked toward Sirius' bed after he closed the door slowly, rubbing his eyes like a child would do after they cried. "Got a nightmare."

Ah. So that's why. "What a pity. I was having a beautiful dream before. Come here, then, you poor thing."

Regulus climbed on the bed and laid himself next to his brother. "Thanks, Sirius," he mumbled softly while pulling the blanket until it covered him perfectly. Only his upper face left.

Sirius grinned. "You're welcome. Mind to tell me what's the wicked nightmare that dares to haunt you?"

Regulus closed his eyes, but Sirius knew he wasn't sleeping. His soft whisper was the real proof: "I have a nightmare where I'll die alone."

Sirius blinked. "That's a shocking and absolutely impossible one. You know I won't leave you alone, right?"

Under the thick blanket, Regulus smiled happily.

"I know."

If only he could see the horrible future—

"You lied to me, Sirius."

The currently-aging older Black smiled sadly. "I know."

"You left me alone."

"Sorry for that."

"You weren't there when I died."

Sirius snorted. "You're alone—"

"—just like what happened in my nightmare."

"I know."

The 'forever-young' Regulus narrowed his eyes. Sirius did nothing to stop his brother's anger.

"Liar has to be punished."

"…"

"Stay with me forever, from now on."

Sirius smiled—no, grinned—mockingly at his brother, as if that was the stupidest thing Regulus ever said to him.

"I prefer to call it a blessing than a horrible punishment, then."
