Disclaimer - I don't own Sophia Bush or Bethany Galeotti (formerly Joy Lenz) or the characters they play on One Tree Hill.
Summary - A take on Haley through the eyes of her girlfriend Brooke. One shot.
Rating - T (just to be safe)
Author's Note - I am here with my first story. (yay!) It is really short, but I like it and I hope you will too. If you don't know already, I'll give you fair warning, it's femslash. If you don't like that don't read it. Those who do read it, I'd love if you'd review, since this is my first fic. Thanks. Enough from me, on with the story.
Beauty Only A Lover Sees
The most amazing things in life always come when you least expect them, in truly uncommon ways.
My most amazing thing is Haley James. She definitely came unexpectedly, when I needed her the most. To anyone on the outside looking in, our relationship is not the typical romance. I'm the perky cheerleading captain who is known to be a bitch on any day of the week, the promiscuous girl who was looking for love in all the wrong places, wrong times and from all the wrong people. I wear my heart on my sleeve, where it is most easily damaged. Growing up with everything handed to you on a silver platter, where money seemingly grows on trees and sprouts from the grass of perfectly mowed, Wisteria Lane lawns does that to a girl, I suppose.
Haley James is a seemingly average girl who slips right the cracks of even her own life, falls right into the shadows of people around her. She does things for others and never for herself. Everyone has their gift and Haley's is her music. Haley's music is the greatest way to her, the true her. When she sings, her beautiful soul pours out of her eyes like rain out of a cloud. She is her own best kept secret.
People never saw us coming, in many ways we ourselves were blindsided. But in my eyes, that's what makes who we are. Haley needed someone to tell her how beautiful she is, inside and out, someone to show her. She needed someone to show her the fun side of life, the part that she possesses within herself that she can't reach alone. If Haley feels protected, she won't be so scared to fall. I am there to catch her and always will be. Beyond her shy exterior, Haley is a girl with a soul full of passion, love, life and hope.
I need her as much as she needs me, even more. Haley is the only person I can trust with my heart that I put out for the whole world to see. She is the girl I love more than anything. I give her something I to give no one else, myself. With everyone else; my family, my so called popular "friends" and even my closest friend, Peyton, the person they see is my façade.
I connect with Haley on a deeper level than anyone else in my life, she is my friend, my confidant, my lover and my soul mate. I love her for who she is and who she has helped me become. I love who we are apart and who we are together.
I belong Haley. Haley is mine. We are each others.
