Author's Notes: While playing Baten Kaitos, this piece occurred to me. Flame away, it truly entertains me. Gehenna is the name I've used for my BKEWaLO file, so that's the spirit's name here.
Disclaimer: If I owned it, Lyude would have absolutely gorgeous wings of the heart and run around half naked, whereas Gibari wouldn't look like someone dragged him through a pricker bush backwards. And Mizuti wouldn't be nearly as annoying, so please don't sue me.
'I am Gehenna' = Spirit talking
Pyschosis

Xelha had known Kalas was revenge crazed to the point of insanity. She had looked past it, been willing to use it, but she hadn't counted on one thing. Gehenna was just as insane, if not moreso. She'd seen Kalas talking to the Spirit, laughing when she agreed with whatever plot was going through his mind at the time, but it had never occurred to Xelha that the Guardian didn't really like the rest of them. Her and Mizuti most especially.
'Shut the little masked brat up, or the next time you get a Spirit card its attack just might go astray.' There is nothing of gentleness in the soft voice, nothing of compassion. The shades of gray figure Xelha sees is almost static at times, all too clear at others. Gehenna truly doesn't like anyone but Kalas, and what she feels towards him…
Xelha knows that Gehenna would do anything for Kalas, even kill them all if he would agree to take her back. Thus she drives them forward with little thought to their needs unless the lack of food or sleep threatens to impinge upon her continued existence. Her voice is constant, tormenting Xelha for every moment wasted, every time they have to backtrack for something that has been forgotten.
'I won't let you have him. Kalas is mine, not yours, not Melodia's. Mine.' Gehenna doesn't need to add a threat to this, knowing that her power alone is threat enough. While Gehenna might not control when her power activates, she is quite capable of guiding it afterwards. It had taken only one near miss at Gibari for Xelha to understand that Gehenna would never like her, never trust her. She wasn't Kalas, wasn't who Gehenna wanted, but she was the only one of them who had heard the Spirit's desperate wails, and now Xelha was trapped.
'Those pink and green abominations are amongst the ugliest wings I've ever seen. Kalas's wings are far more beautiful.' Xelha has begun to understand why Gehenna heaps constant abuse on her, though. The Spirit is insane, and will continue to be so, but Kalas is the anchoring point that grounds her in reality. Gehenna will not be happy, will not rest until she has that back. An with the mirror in her hands, Xelha will fulfill Gehenna's incessant, snarling demands.
Because she really, really wants to shed possession of this lunatic Spirit and her psychosis for her Spiriter.
