Author's Note: I know that previews for finale have Zod looking a little different that I have him portrayed here, but I started this before that one came out. This was how I hoped the reveal of said character would've gone because it just feels more impactful...and fun.
Anyhow...as always, please enjoy.
The world watched as Queen Rhea of Daxam and Supergirl battled on top of buildings, and down on the streets when fight carried them off the city's skyscrapers. Both fighters looked exhausted. While not possessing the same powers as Supergirl, Rhea's strength was still a match for the Girl of Steel. But in the end, National City's heroine prevailed.
Supergirl stood over Rhea, her gaze hardened, her hands on her hips. "It's over, Rhea. You've lost."
Rhea looked up from the ground. She was beaten. She was humbled. But she did not look at Supergirl with defeat in her eyes. She was smiling in fact. A smile of knowing something that her opponent didn't.
"I have lost, Kryptonian, but you haven't won."
Supergirl looked at her perplexed. She was about to ask Rhea what she meant when all of a sudden, a bright yellow blast shot down from the sky, hitting Rhea where she lay. Supergirl heard a scream of pain as she covered her eyes. When the screaming stopped, Supergirl looked back down and saw Rhea on her back, near death.
She crouched down and kneeled next to the fallen queen.
"Rhea, are you –"
"Your world is doomed, Kryptonian," Rhea choked out. "With my defeat…my people will look to another leader. A new leader," she gasped. She then smiled a sick, triumphant smile that made Supergirl's blood run cold. "Get ready to…to…"
Supergirl watched Rhea die before she could get the words out. Get ready to what, Supergirl thought.
You can make this easy, or you can make this hard.
Before she could begin to even figure out what that meant, another blast from the same ship that killed Rhea fired down, this time on Supergirl. The blast weakened her, but did not have the same lethal effect as it did on Rhea.
Around the world.
Throughout National City.
In the highest office in L-Corp.
And in the main bullpen of the DEO.
Everyone watched as someone beamed down from the ship and stood over Supergirl.
"Get strike teams ready," J'onn ordered as Alex watched in horror before running off to gear up.
"Gods no," Mon-El gasped as he saw who stood before his girlfriend.
"Oh my, God," Lena said in fright from her office.
They both looked on at the man standing over Supergirl. His brown hair. His near pale skin. And those hazel-tinged ocean green eyes.
And you will produce an heir.
"Mon-El, do you know who that is?" Winn asked as he saw the look on Mon-El's face. "Mon-El?"
"Even she wouldn't," he whispered. "Fully grown this fast?"
And we are certainly not giving you an heir.
Those words rang in Lena's head as she watched the man kick Supergirl in the stomach. Her hands came up and covered her mouth in horror as she watched her friend double over in pain. "How did she…? This fast?"
She just needs out genetic materials; Daxamites can generate a child using just locks of hair.
"Who are you?" Lena heard Supergirl cough on her television.
He's my…
"Mon-El, who is that, man?" Winn asked again, desperate for an answer.
He's my…
The man looked down at Supergirl and delivered another hard kick.
"I am Zod."
He's my son, both Lena and Mon-El thought.
