Harry Potter is not someone very suspect to flattery. He rather despises it in fact.
So when he took the DADA job, he simply told his students that he would not tolerate being called "Professor."
"That's a title meant for teachers," he said. "That's not what I am."
"Then what are you, sir," a student asked.
"Never you mind," Harry replied. "Just shut up and open your books like I told you to."
"What do we call you?" Another question.
"Call me what you like, so long as it's not too patronizing. I grade on quality, not flattery. Move it!"
