Lister skidded around the room clad in socks, briefs, and a shirt covered in remnants of shami kebabs eaten long ago. "I'm just a love machine." He crooned to no one in particular. Rimmer groaned from atop his bunk.
Lister grinned and leaned on the bunk. "Love is a many splendid thing. Love lifts us up where we belong. All you need is love."
Rimmer sighed, rolling his eyes. He glared pointedly at Lister. "Please, don't start that again."
"All you need is love." Lister sang.
"A boy has got to eat." Rimmer said firmly.
"All you need is love." Lister sang, batting his eyes.
"He'll end up on the street!"
"All you need is love." Lister snaked an arm up on the bunk and tickled Rimmer's side.
"Love is just a game." Rimmer said firmly, slapping Lister's hand away. He jumped off the bunk and paced back and forth across the room.
"I was made for loving you baby, you were made for loving me!" Lister sang, advancing towards Rimmer.
"The only way of loving me baby is to pay a lovely fee." Rimmer smiled coyly at Lister, and backed away.
"Just one night, give me just one night!" Lister pleaded with Rimmer.
"There's no way 'cause you can't pay!" Rimmer sang.
"In the name of love, one night in the name of love." Lister looked at Rimmer expectantly, love in his eyes.
"You crazy fool, I won't give in to you." Rimmer started walking out the door.
"Don't...leave me this way." Lister begged. "I can't survive without your sweet love, oh baby...don't leave me this way." Rimmer turned around, uncertain.
"You think that people would have had enough of silly love songs." Rimmer said gently.
"I look around me and I see it isn't so, oh no." Lister grinned.
"Some people want to fill the world with silly love songs." Rimmer sang, shaking his head.
"Well what's wrong with that? I'd like to know, cause here I go!" Lister jumped on top of the table, scattering puzzle pieces and knocking a coffee cup on the ground.
"Get down from there!" Rimmer laughed.
"Love lifts us up where we belong!" Lister sang, arms spread wide. "Where eagles fly, on a mountain high!"
"Look make us act like where are fools." Rimmer sang, tugging on Lister's leg. "Throw our lives away for one happy day."
Lister jumped down from the table, grabbing Rimmer's hand. "We can be heroes! Just for one day..."
Rimmer shook his head. "You, you will be mean."
Lister chuckles. "No I won't!"
Rimmer quickly thinks up another excuse. "And I...I'll drink all the time!"
"We should be lovers!" Lister sang, clasping both of Rimmer's hands.
"We can't do that." Rimmer shook his head.
"We should be lovers!" Lister grinned. "And that's a fact."
"Though nothing would keep us together...." Rimmer sang, returning the grin.
"We could steal time." Lister sang.
"Just for one day." Lister and Rimmer sang, waltzing around the room. "We can be heroes forever and ever. We could be heroes just because.... I....will always love you! Can't help loving you..."
"How wonderfu life is..." Rimmer sang, twirling Lister into his arms.
"Now you're in the world..." Lister sang, out of breath. Rimmer had his arms twined around him, arms firmly clasped around his waist.
"You're going to be bad for work, I can tell." Rimmer said, passionately kissing Lister.
Okay! This is my first Red Dwarf fic ever. ^.^ Okay! *sighs* Too much sugar, not enough sleep. I can't be counted on to tell whether it's good or not. So review!
