A/N: Enjoy! ...Or not.
They tumbled into the safe house, panting as Aomine slammed the door tight and kept it close with a plank. He crept up to the window and peeked out. All clear.
He sighed in relief. "We're safe, Kise." He announced, pulling back from the window and turning to look at Kise. "The others should be safe even though we got separated back there. They have Akashi, after all." Aomine slid down against the wall, bringing out the gun he had nicked from the one of the undead policemen. "Huh," He mused, turning it over in his hand. "Seems like after they turn they don't have much of a brain."
Aomine looked up from where he was sitting. "Oi. Why're you so quiet? I'd thought you have more stamina." He got up, walking over to Kise when Kise held up a bloody hand from where he was lying curled up into a ball. "Don't come here, Aominecchi. I got bitten back there."
Aomine snorted and continued over. "Yeah right. You probably just cut yourself on some glass or something."
Kise uncurled himself, moving into a sitting position, tilting his head to the side. "In the neck. Look."
Aomine stared at Kise's neck, the pale smooth skin had started to fester. He cursed, looking into Kise's eyes. Damn, his eyes are glazing over too. Kise laughed, a harsh choking sound. "You believe me now?"
Aomine cursed again. "Stay here. I'll head out to look for Akashi. He'd know what to do. Don't move." He headed to the door when Kise's voice stopped him.
"There's no time, Aominecchi. You've got a gun, haven't you. Shoot me with it. Kill me while I'm still me. I don't want to turn and hurt you. Please." Kise begged. "I can't do it myself, I'm losing feeling in my arms. You have to hurry. I'm starting to smell the fresh blood coursing through your veins. There is no time." Kise repeated.
Aomine shook his head. "I- I can't, Kise. I'll lock you up while I look for Akashi."
"Aominecchi." Kise stood as best he could, following Aomine's scent. "You will shoot me now. I'm losing myself." He tried to jab the centre of his forehead, but his arms wont move. "A headshot, Aominecchi." He coughed, blood splattering on the dust covered floor. "You know that's the only way."
"Please."
Aomine swallowed, eyes blurring with his tears. Nodding even though Kise probably couldn't see him, he brought the gun to the centre of Kise's head. He felt Kise tense, but he kept his hand steady.
"Are you sure, Kise."
"Yes. Goodbye, Aominecchi. It was really nice knowing you." Aomine closed his eyes as Kise did too, and pulled the trigger. Red blossomed on the wall behind, and Kise slumped to the floor.
Aomine lifted the gun again. "Yeah, it was nice knowing you."
A second gunshot rang through the silence.
